Alpaca profile: BVA's Sir Domanik Jack
Dominic is the very first alpaca we met, when he was just a weanling and we knew absolutely nothing about alpacas! He is very dear to us for this reason, and the fact that he was born in the same month and year as our son. Although hard to photograph, Dominic is a very unusual colour, a LAVENDER grey, although he is turning more red with each passing year. He is of a sweet and curious nature, happy to give you a friendly nose-to-nose greeting before wondering off into the pasture.
We chose Dominic for his colour and his colour genetics - his sire is the late MR Tuxedo Jack, a 1999 AOBA blue ribbon winner, and his grandsire is the great Peruvian King.
