 Alpaca profile: Gustav's Myra of Moonwood
Our petite dam Dee Dee delivered this precious and dainty little cria sired by AGO Gustav on 17 June 2008 just after 8am EST. We were hugely surprised to see that she's a light fawn colour, and are just thrilled that she's obviously taken it from her grandsire PHAR Online!
When it came to naming her, we narrowed our choices down to (1) MAIRA: Hebrew for ‘The Moon’, and (2) GISLI: Islandic for ‘Ray of Sunshine’. We chose Maira but decided to change the spelling so that her name won’t be mispronounced. Myra was born during the full Strawberry Moon phase.
