We are bringing the mini fiber arts workshops back again, some are old favourites, some are a fresh new addition.
These are short hands on workshops that are easy to fit in between classes in the show ring. You will be taught spinning techniques as well as small, easy projects that you can do at home, or that you can teach your clients and open farm day attendees. All tools and materials are provided.
This year I am also putting my official 'speaker' hat on to provide you with a seminar that will help you bridge the gap with fiber artists so that you're speaking their language when it comes to selling your fleeces.
And best of all? Everything is still completely FREE for you to absorb and enjoy, courtesy of the VAOBA Board!
We do, however, strongly suggest that you sign up ahead of time if you want a guaranteed spot in any of the workshops. This year I am trying something different, ONLINE REGISTRATION. I'll only be allocating 75% of the workshop participant slots to online registration, the other 25% will need to be signed up for in person at the booth. On Friday we will have sign up sheets for all workshops laid out on a table at the Moonwood Farm Fiber Studio booth where they'll remain all weekend. Just come and write your name on anything you'd like to do. If it's full, put yourself on the waiting list because sometimes folks don't show up, which means LUCKY YOU ;).
And lastly, the icing on the cake: Otto & Joanne Strauch from the Strauch Fiber Equipment Company are joining forces with us for the weekend to form a DREAM TEAM! So not only will you be learning some awesome fibery skills from us, you'll have the opportunity to experience the full line of optimum-for-alpaca Strauch drum carders, as well as any other fiber tools they can fit in their vehicle.
